Who is an ideal candidate for hair grafting surgery?
You may be a candidate for hairline lowering if you:

Does hairline lowering surgery hurt?
Patients are most likely asleep during the whole procedure and will not feel anything because of local anesthesia. Afterward, any soreness is usually minimal and easily managed with prescribed and over the counter medication.
Is hairline lowering surgery safe?
Yes. Hair transplant–based hairline lowering is a safe procedure when performed by an experienced surgeon. The risks are minimal, and the method avoids the more invasive steps of forehead reduction surgery.
Are there potential side effects to hair transplantation?
Side effects are rare and usually temporary. You may notice mild swelling, redness, numbness or scabbing in the first few days. But that’s completely normal.
Will the surgery cause scarring?
There will be a linear scar where the hair is harvested (removed) from at the back of the scalp that usually cannot be seen unless a patient keeps the back of their hair cut extremely short.

With our modern hair transplant techniques, scarring is minimal. If grafts are harvested using the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method, tiny incisions heal almost invisibly. Even with FUT (strip method), the donor scar is usually hidden by surrounding hair.
How long does hairline lowering surgery take?
Expect the surgery to take between four to six hours, depending on the amount of hair to be transplanted.
