Eyebrow Transplant Before and After

This Patient of Jae Pak, M.D. was able to have fullness restored to overplucked eyebrows.

What Is an Eyebrow Hair Transplant?

An eyebrow transplant is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure where healthy hair follicles are taken from the scalp and transplanted into the eyebrow region. Unlike temporary options like microblading or tattooing, eyebrow transplantation provides real, growing, and permanent hair.

During an FUE Hair Transplant procedure, the follicular units are harvested (removed) from the back of your scalp by your surgeon, using a surgical tool the diameter of .7 to .9 mm. The cylindrical surgical instrument is selected based on the size of the hair follicles.

Patient Transformations – Before and After

Our patients consistently describe this eyebrow reconstruction process as both innovative and exciting. Many no longer spend time penciling in brows daily — they enjoy natural fullness that grows and can be styled.

Dr. Pak, a trusted eyebrow transplant surgeon, transforms the look of our patients every day, and helps build their confidence. The eyebrows are a prominent feature on a person’s face, and impact not only their appearance but also their health, by protecting the eyes from the sun, water and particles on the face and in the air.

Am I a Good Candidate?

You may benefit from an eyebrow transplant at Jae Pak, M.D. if you have:

  • Sparse or thinning brows from overplucking.
  • Eyebrow hair loss due to trauma, burns, or accidents.
  • Naturally thin or asymmetrical brows.

Here’s a caveat, though: eyebrow transplants may not be for everyone. You’re not suitable for an eyebrow implant if you have:

  • Alopecia areata
  • Trichotillomania
  • Bleeding disorders
  • A history of complications related to cosmetic surgery

During your consultation, Dr. Pak carefully assesses your medical history, features and designs a custom plan to achieve your desired look.

What to Expect During Eyebrow Implantation

1) Personal Consult & Custom Design
Dr. Jae Pak studies your facial features and bone structure to determine the ideal width, length, arch, and density for your brows. Together, you’ll review your goals, then he’ll draw the outline of the brows on your skin to confirm the exact shape before the procedure begins.

2) Method Selection: FUT vs FUE (Donor Harvest Plan)
You and Dr. Pak choose the harvesting method based on your hair style, goals, and healing preferences.

  •   FUT / Strip (Follicular Unit Transplantation): A thin strip of skin is removed from the back of the scalp; follicles are dissected into individual grafts.
  • FUE (Follicular Unit Excision): Follicles are removed one by one, creating tiny pin-prick scars scattered through the donor area—virtually undetectable, ideal if you keep your hair short.

3) Local Anesthesia
The donor and brow areas are numbed with local anesthesia so you’re comfortable throughout the procedure.

4) Donor Harvest

  •   With FUT, a thin strip of skin is removed, then follicles are microscopically prepared into single-hair grafts ideal for natural brows.
  •   With FUE, individual follicles are gently extracted and sorted for eyebrow use.
Dr. Pak will explain the pros and cons of each method so you can choose confidently.

5) Graft Preparation

Technicians refine grafts—primarily single hairs for the soft front and outline of the brow, and small groupings where appropriate for body and tail—to mirror natural eyebrow patterns.

6) Recipient Site Creation (Artistic Micro-Sites)

Dr. Pak creates tiny micro-incisions (“sites”) in the brow, planning the exact location, direction, and angle of each hair. This step is key to achieving undetectable, natural-looking brows.

7) Hair-by-Hair Implantation

Grafts are placed one by one, feathering the front, shaping the arch, and building density through the body and tail so the result looks full yet natural.

8) Immediate Aftercare (Days 1–3)

Expect mild redness/itching. Avoid rubbing, heavy sweating, and brow makeup. Sleep with your head slightly elevated; follow your care kit instructions.

9) Shedding & Regrowth Timeline

The entire eyebrow transplant procedure typically takes 3-5 hours. But transplanted hairs shed around weeks 2–4 (normal). New growth starts to appear at 3–4 months. Brows mature between 6–9 months with final results at 9–12 months.

10) Maintenance & Follow-Up

Because transplanted hairs act like scalp hair, you’ll trim/train them every four days or so. A one year follow-up visit reviews shape and density; some patients elect a small touch-up for personal preference.

Eyebrow Transplant Price

The eyebrow implantation can cost $7,000–$8,500 depending on the method: FUE, FUT, or Long Hair FUE. Pricing reflects the artistry and time required to design brows to your facial features and bone structure, plus the specialized skills to implant hairs at the proper direction and density. Our goal is the same for every case—artistically natural-looking eyebrows. For an exact quote, we’ll map your ideal width, length, arch, and density during consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is an eyebrow transplant painful?

Expect minimal or no pain because of local anesthesia. Mild soreness/redness, however, may be experienced for a few days post-procedure.

  • Are results permanent?

Yes—once healed, transplanted follicles grow for life. Final results show at 9–12 months.

  • Do transplanted brows keep growing—and need trimming?

Yes. They behave like scalp hair, so weekly trimming/training is normal.

  • Eyebrow transplant vs microblading—what’s the difference?

Microblading and use of powders and other products to fill in your brows will never have the natural and permanent look of an eyebrow hair transplant.

  • Is an eyebrow transplant safe?

Yes, because your own hair follicles are used, the implanted hair reacts extremely well to being implanted in the face. The key to a great outcome is finding the right doctor. Jae Pak, M.D. works with patients daily to restore eyebrows, beards, and hairlines with artistically natural looking results!

  • When can I go back to work or be seen in the public after an eyebrow transplant?

Although there may be some redness or slight swelling, most patients can return to work or normal activities a few days following their transplant. It is rare for the redness to persist for more than a week. If you have very fair or sensitive skin, the redness may persist slightly longer than seven days.

  • Can you take hairs from my arm, chest, or other parts of my body?

Hair can come from anywhere on your body for implantation, however, the quality and growth of the hair should be similar to eyebrow hair for best results. The hair on the back of the scalp most closely matches facial hair and is therefore the best to use during a facial hair transplant. Dr. Pak is sometimes able to use hair from under the chin and on the neck, but the amount of hair available from those areas is limited.
